Day 18
Depart from USA for overnight flight to
Rio de Janeiro - Brazil, at the airline of your preference.
Day 28 Arrival in the morning at Rio de Janeiro International Airport.
Our local representative and a privately chartered motor coach will meet you
and transfer the group to 4 star hotel in the City of Rio de Janeiro,
located in Copacabana area, famous for the beach that takes the same name.
Players and coaches will be accommodated in double rooms with private
bathrooms.
This afternoon will be free to explore Copacabana (take a walk on the beach
and/or swim) and adjust to the time difference.
Day 38 After breakfast, a visit to Zico´s Soccer Academic Center (CFZ),
owned by one of Brazilian's most important players ever (and now coaching
the Japanese National Team). This is one of the soccer fields where the
Pan-American Games in 2007 will take place. A soccer clinic will be
programmed with a professional Brazilian coach. The first game will be
played after the clinic. After the soccer game, a tour is planned around
Barra da Tijuca, place of the Pan-American Games of 2007 and lunch in a
typical Brazilian barbecue house, where all kind of meats are served and cut
into your plate.
Day 48 After breakfast we will go to a tour to the famous Christ the
Redeemer, one of Brazilian post cards, located at Corcovado Hill, where we
will have incredible views of Rio de Janeiro and understand why it's so
famous. After the Christ, we will go for a light trekking inside the Tijuca
forest, the biggest urban forest in the world. We will visit a place called
Paineiras from where we will also have marvelous views of Rio and take a
refreshing bath in a waterfall after the trekking. Late in the afternoon,
after some rest, a visit to the Rio Sul shopping is programmed. Time for
shopping and to start looking for some gifts to take back home.
Day 58
After breakfast we will visit the principal post card of Rio,
the Sugar Loaf. A two stage-cable car will take us to the top of the Sugar
Loaf mountain where we will have astonishing views of Guanabara Bay,
Copacabana and Ipanema beaches and the city. In the afternoon we will have
the second game against an amateur or professional soccer team from Rio.
Day 68 On this day we will have an early breakfast and will go to a 1
day tour to Angra dos Reis (2 hours away from Rio). We will have an
unforgettable schooner cruise tour around the beautiful bay of Angra dos
Reis and its 365 islands, some of which are privately-owned by important
Brazilian personalities. We will stop for swimming and will have lunch at
one of the islands. We will also play the third game against a local team
and return to Rio at night.
Day 78 After three consecutive games and
so many activities, the players will need some rest. Therefore a relaxing
visit is scheduled to a "Feira" - a typical market of Brazil, where
fresh tropical fruits and vegetables are sold. The atmosphere is amusing,
the smells are wonderful and the people are great. The rest of the day is
free: the players may relax at the beach and get ready for the next days.
Day 88After breakfast , we will visit the "Granja Comary" located
at the city of Teresópolis, where the Brazilian professional soccer team
stays before the world cup and other important competitions. It is a
beautiful place with a lots of green and many soccer fields. You will be
able to step on the fields where Rivaldo , Ronaldinho , Cafu practiced
before winning the Japan - Korea World Cup. We will play the fourth game
against a local team.
Day 98
After breakfast, we will visit the biggest and popular soccer
stadium of Maracanã, where some of the most important games in the history
of soccer were held. We will visit also the soccer museum , with pictures of
Pelé and other famous soccer players who have been in the stadium. If we
are lucky, we will watch a professional soccer game in that stadium. The
crowd is incredible and we will be petrified with the energy the crowd puts
in a brazilian soccer game.
Day 108Today we will have our fifth and last game against one
of the biggest soccer clubs in Rio de Janeiro. The rest of the day will be
free for any activity desired by the group.
Day 118
Free day. After ten days of soccer, sightseeing and fun it will
be time to return to the USA. A privately chartered bus will transport the
group to the International Airport of Rio de Janeiro where we take the plane
back home and will be ready to star our competition.
